"Hadatha" Center Launched to Boost Cybersecurity Industry in Oman
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT),represented by the National Center for Information Security (NCIS),in collaboration with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Muscat, launched the "Hadatha" Center for Cybersecurity Industry. The launch event took place during the Regional Cybersecurity Week.
The Center's Objectives
The "Hadatha" Center aims to enhance the outcomes of the National Cybersecurity Industry Program by fostering knowledge sharing, research, and development of cybersecurity products and services through simulation, modeling, and testing. The center will work to achieve the following objectives:
- Alignment with National Cybersecurity Industry Program: Ensure the center's initiatives are aligned with the national cybersecurity program's strategic goals.
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
- Bridging Stakeholders: Facilitate collaboration and networking between government entities, private sector organizations, and academic institutions.
Key Participants
The launch event was graced by Her Excellency Halima bint Rashid Al-Zari'a, Chairwoman of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority. The event was also attended by His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Amer Al-Shizawi, Undersecretary of MTCIT for Communications and Information Technology, and the President of UTAS, along with other relevant officials from various institutions.

The "Hadatha" Center represents a significant step towards strengthening the cybersecurity industry in Oman. By focusing on knowledge exchange, research, and innovation, the center will play a crucial role in developing the skills and expertise needed to build a robust and secure digital ecosystem in the country.
